Intern’s Story: Growing up in an abusive home, Sparkayla turned to baking as a coping mechanism. It was her way of creating a moment of joy and feeling a sense of accomplishment despite her circumstances. Feeling that this was her path to a brighter future, Kayla enrolled in Sprouts’ Chef-In-Training Program and is beyond excited to further her understanding of cooking both sweet and savory dishes. She is thrilled to be able to express herself creatively in a supportive environment. Upon graduation, Sparkayla plans to pursue a full-time career as a baker or chef.
