Bay Area Summer Camps

Join Sprouts for Our 12th Annual Summer Camps!

Our week-long camps are an intensive culinary experience chock-full of hands-on cooking classes in restaurants, farm harvests, field trips, camper cook-offs, blindfolded palate play…and so much more! Sprouts’ aspiring chefs will work alongside guest chefs with experiences at some of the hottest restaurants in the Bay Area such as Delfina, Slanted Door, Penrose, Boulevard, and Tartine Bakery!
This year we will be hosting a whoppin’ 12 weeks of Summer Camps! Camps run all of June, July, and August. Campers can select one-week camp sessions that go from Monday–Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You’d be crazy not to join in our culinary frenzy this summer – it’s gonna be ridiculously delicious!
Throughout the day, kids will visit different restaurants, markets, farms, and venues in the East Bay, San Francisco and beyond! Aspiring chefs can sign up for an East-Bay or SF-based week. For East Bay Camps, all drop-offs and pick-ups will take place East Bay. For all SF camp weeks, drop-off’s and pick-ups will remain in SF.  A typical day includes cooking with real chefs, reinforcing knife and safety skills through hands-on cooking, whipping up lunch and tasting our creations throughout the day. We will learn how to taste and smell our way through improvisational cooking as well as learn favorite recipes and dishes of our culinary friends. We will meet and cook with farmers and artisans all over the Bay Area, and forge relationships with local chefs and purveyors.
Children 7-12 are welcome to apply as campers, and we have one week of camp for older kids, ages 11-15! Each week-long camp session will have 10-1​6​ campers with a counselor ratio of 3:1. Classes are led by guest chefs, and assisted by food and nutrition-loving counselors, from UC Berkeley, Paris, and across the US!

What is our ‘Sprouts-Led Camp?!’

For the first time, Sprouts Cooking Club will be hosting summer camps led entirely by our team of culinary instructors! These camps will focus on the connection between seasonal produce and home cooking. Campers will be getting their hands dirty at local farms and gardens, as well as cooking up delicious offerings using fresh, seasonal produce in our beautiful outdoor kitchen.  Not only will the young chefs learn knife skills, proper cooking techniques, and kitchen etiquette, they will also gain an intimate understanding of the food system from the farmers perspective. Come join the club this summer!

Camps run all of June, July, and August. Each session is one week long, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Choose between our East Bay and SF camp weeks. For East Bay Camps, all drop-offs and pick-ups will take place East Bay. For all SF camp weeks, drop-off’s and pickups will remain in SF.

Camp Fees:

Chef Led, Full Day: $620
Sprouts Led, Full Day: $500
Sprouts Led, Half Day: $275
Camp fee covers the cost of materials, our summer staff, ingredients, venues and transportation! As always, Sprouts offers scholarships for those in need!

Cancellation Policy

Up to 3 weeks before the camp session’s initial day: 50% refund
Within 3 weeks of the start of the camp: Non-refundable.
You can, however, invite a friend to take the place of a cancelled spot!
