Garden Volunteer
Working as a garden volunteer is an excellent way to
learn, hands-on, how to plant and harvest an organic
garden all the while supporting Sprouts' non-profit
and taking home fresh, seasonal produce.
This position involves a medley of tasks both in the
garden and within the community such as planting,
pruning, harvesting, picking up transplants, reaching
out to local nursuries, and organizing open-community
garden workdays and socials. Additionally, this
internship allows you the opportunity to work with
children during garden classes as well as harvest
vegetables for Sprouts' classes that are held
throughout the year.
This internship requires a minimum of 3 hours a
week, which does not include time spent at garden
socials or workdays, organized intermittently
throughout the summer, fall, and spring.
This position involves working closely with the
garden manager of Sprouts, Elaine Laguerta.
